The Freewheelin' Unexpected Delirium Podcast: Oh Captain My Captain

Can you support a big team and a little team at the same time? Why didn't Capn Tom become famous through his first TV appearance?

In addition to being our most censored edition yet, this week's Freewheelin' Unexpected Delirium Podcast asks two big questions, at least one of which concerns Association Football.

The first is whether or not it is permissable to continue to support your local non-league team as well as your favourite club, once the minnows achieve league status? It's seemingly not of particular concern for Edward, who roundly despises Crawley Town with a consuming passion, until he remembers that his new house is 30 minutes walk from fellow Sussex upstarts Worthing FC. It's enough to scramble his mind to the point that he has started to believe everything he sees, much to Ian's amusement.

Also up for debate this week is the more nebulous issue of what any of us actually knows, bearing in mind the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that - for example - could go on to make an unmemorable contestant on a 40-year old episode of Blankety Blank into a beloved Knight of the Realm.

There are also more concrete and contemporary issues to consider too, as we entertain ourselves with the sounds of Arsenal fans having a complete meltdown. Whatever your stripe, placate yourself with the sure knowledge that tomorrow will be a good day as you listen in, a brandy in one hand and a cigar in the other.
