My wife, who once lived around there taught me about "Bozzam" years ago. The whole thing is complicated by Cosham, not far away, whish is of course pronounced Cosh-ham.
We had the same thing when we moved down here from London. My girlfriend thought Southwick was pronounced the same as Southwell racecourse. (I had family already down here and was silently smug to myself about already knowing this.)
